Take Me Anywhere!

painting

Isadora Duncan, in Green, Dancing, by Abraham Walkowitz

Take me, take me anywhere!
Take me, I’ll go anywhere!
Wherever you’re going, just take me along,
Don’t need to know where, no, you could not go wrong,
To Portland, Toronto, Bombay, to London, Osaka, Taipei,
To Paris, Havana, Revere,
To Jamestown, or down to the corner for beer!

I’ll go wherever you take me,
you’ll make me happy just doing it,
I’m ready whenever you ring me,
Just spring me, and bring me along!

Take me, take me anywhere,
Try me, I’ll go anywhere!
In a car or a bus or a chair or a plane,
On a raft or a scooter, a yacht or Great Dane,
To see the old ruins of Greece,
To Montreal,  Boston, or Nice,
To Lisbon, Alaska, Algeria,
Liverpool, or the school cafeteria!

I’ll go wherever you take me,
You’ll make me ecstatic just doing it,
I’m ready whenever you call me,
Enthrall me, haul me along!

Take me, take me anywhere,
Trust me, I’ll go anywhere,
To dance-a the cha-cha,
Or shop for a dress,
To wit or woo at Waterloo,
To swim or play chess,
To Moscow, Berlin, or Times Square,
To Lima, Atlanta, Bel Air,
Toledo, Majorica, Nevadah,
It doesn’t matter, set my heart to pitter-patter,
Take me any, anywhere!
